Lisa Raposa - Piano
Lisa Raposa has taught piano to children and adults of all levels at The Music Studio since 2015. In addition to the many performing events offered by the studio, her students have options to participate in local festivals, master classes and exams.
Raposa is Vice President of the Etobicoke-Mississauga Branch of ORMTA and has written pedagogical reviews for the Alliance of Canadian New Music Projects. Prior to moving to the GTA, she taught in community music schools and arts programs in Quebec and the Northeastern U.S. and was for several years on the faculty of the Summer Youth Music School at the University of New Hampshire. At the university level, Raposa has taught courses to music majors in sight-reading, accompanying and playing the piano as a secondary instrument.
Raposa earned bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in music from the University of New Hampshire, University of Massachusetts-Amherst and Eastman School of Music, respectively. She performs often with her husband, pianist Gregory Millar, having appeared at Gallery 345 and on the Sunday Rendez-vous Series at Stewart Hall in Pointe-Claire, QC. Lisa enjoys creative writing, photography and running in her spare time.
