The Music Studio’s new teacher Olivia Cox has a varied background across many genres. Her childhood was filled with choral and folk music, then she expanded her repertoire with musical theatre and jazz performances. Her biggest influences include folk, rock, progressive metal, pop, and opera. Currently, she plays keys and does vocals for Toronto art rock group Waxlimbs, which wrote and released 12 original songs in 12 months during the pandemic. She also writes and performs original folk music on guitar. Olivia has extensive training in classical piano through the Royal Conservatory of Music program and has studied music theory. Olivia has a wealth of experience teaching students at a variety of skill levels and has successfully prepared many students for RCM exams. Olivia is excited to be joining The Music Studio and bringing her unique background to the classroom.
