Carolina Herrera graduated with Honours from York University under the internationally renowned violinist Jacques Israelievitch. She initiated her violin studies at the age of eight in the Conservatory of Music in Bogota- Colombia. There, she was member of several orchestras and chamber groups such as the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Colombia, Camerata Frank Preuss and the Symphony Orchestra of Colombia.
Since 2006, Carolina has joined several Orchestras in Canada including the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Alberta, the Koffler Chamber Orchestra, the Kindred Spirit Orchestra and Korean-Canadian Symphony Orchestra in Toronto. For two consecutive years, Carolina was a recipient of awards and scholarships to attend the Chuatauqua Summer Music Festival in NY.
Besides being a classical performer, Carolina loves teaching violin to children of all levels. As an experienced teacher, Carolina uses different approaches with every student to encourage constant interest, creativity and love for playing the violin.
