The teachers at The Music Studio in Etobicoke (Toronto) take pride in helping our students achieve their musical goals. Many of our students’ accomplishments in the community and beyond are described below.

AUDTIONS

Many students have successfully prepared for vocal and instrumental entrance auditions for arts schools such as the Etobicoke School of the Arts.

Vocal and instrumental students have been accepted into university and college classical and jazz music programs.

Vocal students have been accepted into many prestigious choirs and choruses, including one young student who was accepted directly into the Canadian Opera Company’s Children’s Chorus. He so impressed the judges at his audition that he was exempted from their training choirs, which rarely occurs, and which allowed him to perform with the Chorus on the stage of the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.

Vocal students have prepared for, and done well in, auditions for Canadian Idol.

FESTIVALS

Highlights of student performances at the following music festivals:

Kiwanis Festival– Vocal and instrumental students receiving top marks including a young violinist who achieved a second place result.

Etobicoke Music Festival – First, Second and Third place results for violin and piano students performing pieces from the grades six and seven RCM repertoire. These students were also invited to perform at the final concert and were scholarship recipients.

Davenport Festival of Music – Two vocal students and one piano student received First Place marks. Vocal students have also received Second and Third Place results, including one student who received Second Place in the Grade Four vocal category. All students consistently receive marks above 80.

Greater Toronto Music Festival – Vocal and violin students received First Place results.

EXAMINATIONS

Many vocal, instrumental, theory, harmony and history students have achieved Honours and First Class Honours results in RCM examinations at beginning through advanced grade levels.

Vocal and instrumental students have received higher grades at arts schools such as Etobicoke School of the Arts in performance, theory and ear training courses. After one student received an A+ on a vocal exam, the examiner commented that, “This student must have a very good vocal instructor”.

RESULTS
