Jeff Willis — Guitar, Bass
Jeff began playing music in his home town of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Stints in local bands, solo performances, and employment as music instructor at Confederation College and Thunder Bay Parks and Recreation all played a part in his early musical career.
From Thunder Bay, Jeff moved to Ottawa. While completing an Arts degree in English Literature, he infiltrated the burgeoning Ottawa music scene, playing and recording with expat Thunder Bay folk artists Ian Tamblyn and Kim Erickson, as well as notable Ottawans Sneezy Waters, Peter Chapin, and. Bob Stark. Bruce Cockburn once told Jeff he looked familiar.
A restless urge to expand musical horizons led him to study formally in Los Angeles at the newly-opened Guitar Institute of Technology, where he met and played with many of the visiting well-known session musicians, such as Pat Metheny and Larry Carlton.
Armed with a year's induction in the music big leagues, Jeff settled in Toronto where he continues to perform and maintain a teaching practice. He has been a member of the faculty at The Music Studio for too many years than he cares to admit, and continues to be amazed that studio director Ed Lettner invites him back every year.
